Cummins Inc. designs, manufactures, distributes and services diesel and natural gas engines, electric and hybrid powertrains, and powertrain-related components including filtration, aftertreatment, turbochargers (Holset), fuel systems, controls, air handling, emission solutions, automated transmissions, electrical power generation systems, batteries, hydrogen generation and fuel cell products; the company operates through complementary segments serving on-highway, off-highway, marine, power generation and industrial markets with customers including truck fleets, construction, mining, rail, marine operators and data centers in approximately 190 countries. Founded in 1919 and headquartered in Columbus, Indiana, Cummins maintains a global network of over 600 distributors and 7,200 dealers with manufacturing in multiple regions including North America, Asia and Europe. Recent developments include the February 2025 acquisition of key assets from First Mode to advance retrofit hybrid solutions for mining and rail; a September 2025 memorandum of understanding with Komatsu and Wabtec for hybrid powertrains in surface mining haul trucks supporting Destination Zero decarbonization; full production launch of the X15N 15-liter natural gas engine in September 2024 for U.S. heavy-duty trucks; a January 2025 deployment of its HSK78G variable speed natural gas engine with partner Liberty Energy for hydraulic fracturing; a $70 million expansion of its Columbus Olympic testing facility in May 2025 for advanced powertrain development across fuels including hydrogen; and an August 2025 increase in its quarterly dividend to $2.00 per share.
