Business
Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. (MXIM) designs, manufactures, and markets analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for the automotive, industrial, communications, consumer, and computing markets. The company offers a broad portfolio of core products and services, including power and battery management ICs, sensors, analog ICs such as amplifiers, data converters, and filters, interface ICs, transceivers, switches and multiplexers, communications solutions encompassing wireless RF, optical, and powerline communications, digital ICs like microcontrollers, embedded security, real-time clocks, and memory products, as well as military and aerospace devices; it also provides high-frequency process technologies for custom designs and serves customers through direct sales, applications support, and distribution channels. Founded in 1983 and headquartered in San Jose, California, Maxim Integrated operates design centers, manufacturing facilities including wafer fabs, and sales offices worldwide, with key locations in the United States, China, Europe, the rest of Asia, the Philippines, and facilities in Chandler, Arizona. In August 2021, Analog Devices, Inc. completed its $20.9 billion all-stock acquisition of Maxim Integrated, establishing it as a wholly-owned subsidiary that enhances the parent's scale in high-performance analog semiconductors, with combined trailing twelve-month revenue exceeding $9 billion and expanded capabilities in automotive, data centers, and industrial sectors. Prior to integration, the company pursued strategic initiatives such as partnering with Xailient in July 2021 for low-power IoT face detection using the MAX78000 neural-network microcontroller and launching the MAX25512 automotive LED backlight driver.
