Founded in 1941 and headquartered at 10 Hudson Yards in New York City, Tapestry, formerly known as Coach, Inc. until its rebranding in October 2017, employs approximately 19,000 people globally and reported net sales of $5.6 billion for Coach and $1.2 billion for Kate Spade in the latest period. Recent strategic developments include the divestiture of the Stuart Weitzman footwear brand to Caleres for $105 million in cash during 2025 to sharpen focus on core brands and bolster liquidity for sustainability initiatives; an expanded partnership and increased equity investment to 9.9% in Gen Phoenix, a sustainable recycled leather fiber manufacturer, via a $15 million funding round in July 2025, featuring a three-year supply agreement to advance circular materials innovation; the launch of the Amplify growth strategy targeting mid-single-digit revenue growth, margin expansion, and $4 billion in shareholder returns by fiscal 2028 through heightened marketing investments exceeding 11% of revenue, dividend growth, and a $3 billion share repurchase authorization; and strong fiscal 2026 first-quarter performance with 13% revenue growth to $1.7 billion and 52% operating profit increase to $382 million, prompting an upward revision to full-year outlook.
