I appreciate you putting a finer point on your levels of expectations. I would like to observe on the subject of China general Economy, the real estate meltdown is presently well underway, and IMO drive down consumption further even among the wealthy. I am a bit more dour with respects to all of the headlines surrounding Musk. It is a drag on TSLA as you eluded to earlier, however, I fear a gathering storm of powerful interests laser focused on him as a result of the TWTR acquisition. To me, this is a huge X in any equation determining a fair value entry point into the stock. Do some thing nice for someone they will tell their mother, do something bad to someone they tell everyone they know. Appreciate your sharing🙏🏻

I enjoyed both of your posts and respect your DD. Having said that, I would suggest a couple of questions to compel me with your arguments. First, the downtrend in sales in China are down and declining as I understand and is that baked into your expectations? Secondly, Elon made very large stock sale on November 4th to cover for TWTR and I am interested to know what you feel the impact on SpaceX Twitter and of course Tesla for the next fiscal year or two? Thank you both.

TBH, if he can control the R&D and cost of sales, that should get them in the black fairly fast.

I mean, not fast enough to recuperate the $44b he and his friends injected into the company anytime soon, but maybe fast enough that when they relist TWTR that it will impress investors within a few quarters.

Elon, Elon, Elon. Why do you insist on putting your dick on the desks at TWTR? Don't you know that only drives TSLA stock down further when they understand how small and insignificant your dick is?

Yeah, we get the point you were trying to make about "so small TWTR confuses it for a worm" as you asked the engineers to fix it, but come on. What about your loyal TSLA bros who watched another 2% drop off their retirement savings with that stunt.

How is it not? Entire departments are gutted, less than 50% decided to stay after Enron made his take it or leave it ultimatum. Advertisers are fleeing by the dozen and Enron himself said twtr was facing bankruptcy if they couldn't bring in more revenue?? Reports are now coming out Enron and his executives personally begged critical employees to stay, but was literally hung up on while he was talking. So, what's your reasons for why its not imploding? Please tell since you see all sides. Market agrees with me btw, tsla isn't dropping because they think twtr is going greatimg

I want to buy puts but they are dropping so fast it's tough to find a entry point lol

It's gonna fall to 150s by mid January

Then stabilizing of fed rates should prevent it from falling more

But.... BYD is exploding in China and will threaten Tsla growth there

and car prices r dropping now

Expect Tesla to oscillate from 150 to 250 in my imo next year as the overall economy keeps demand up

All this presumes Musk's Twtr fiasco is an isolated midlife crisis mental breakdown which won't be repeated.... And that he hasn't significantly pissed off the ev demographic

If it's in your IRA, you can pair it back without tax consequence. I personally think that TSLA is massively undervalued. Most of the Reddit people are looking at market cap as their metric. That is the equivalent of saying a Channel bag is overvalued because it's worth more than all other bags. It's demonstrates zero understanding of valuation. Even the latest analysis from Seeking Alpha (who rarely employs anyone that bothers to go into the K's and Q's instead of just mouthing a bunch of silliness from the data feeds) is taking their "sell TSLA" position because it won't be $4tr with just cars. What a dumb analysis for shorting a stock.

I think the Street has largely moved toward technical analysis in its recommendations because it's cheaper for them to do so. I've rarely seen an argument that actually is based on meaningful fundamental analysis. The only thing I see as causing pressure on the stock at current, is a need for the board to renegotiate the forward compensation package for Elon and Elon selling the stock himself to pay for TWTR overhang.

Even if you slowed the growth rate by 1/2 it would be undervalued. Its battery biz finally showed massive revenue and earnings growth. Hence, as much as people hate on Cathy Wood, the two things she mentioned we'd start to see are happening, i.e. economy of scale on the core auto biz (both the selling of cars and fixing of cars) and the ancillary tech biz's becoming a part of earnings growth going forward. As far as the hater memes, they all want to use market cap, but if you recast the same memes with Profitability (operating margins, net margins, ROI, earnings yield) you'd get an incredibly different picture.

Finally, it depends on how you buy stock. if you're really there for the early stages and you want hard core growth stocks in your book like TSLA early days, then it's likely a style change for you and that's also a good reason to swap out. If instead, you also own GOOGL, AAPL, and MSFT, then TSLA should also be a hold.

The only question is when the crash happens. Eventually traditional car companies will make up the gap - Tesla (and the others') valuation is obviously silly - it's just a matter of time before it comes back down to earth. Someone's going to make some serious money on this and it's going to cause chaos for Elon if it happens before he's got his TWTR financing cleaned up. Hell, this Twitter thing might just be the catalyst.

Twitter stock is privately held and is presumably worth quite a bit less than Elon Musk and syndicates paid for it, but there is no published price for it because it is not actively traded. If you are looking at some chart of TWTR, that represents a cash claim that was paid by Musk, not an equity claim on the future of Twitter.

Most people know it doesn't take much to run a chat system. WhatsApp is always cited as the prime example of this. 55 people were running that with a bigger user base than TWTR today when they got bought by META. Instagram only had 13! employees.

There was obviously some fat to cut at TWTR, but whether or not the general public agrees it was content moderation and all the people necessary for keeping a public company going (accountancy, security, etc.) is a different issue.

Mind that implement China work practices: 996 weeks, stack ranking/pip, fake merit system via networking only for vp's and above. He's got 1st hand experience with GigaShanghai. And the fri. ultimatum proves that direction. Makes sense if he wants to compete with Tencent.

WeChat app design is pretty powerful, mind that it ONLY works cause the CCP allows Tencent full surveillance capabilities in return gives them access to the data anytime. Elon thinks he can decentralize the design, maybe use Jack's blue sky. IMO, big risk evident from a similar example: crypto.

And with conducting the biggest poll on twtr yesterday and letting you know who back on it begs to ask: how many bots were in the poll? Considering it wasn't an anonymous poll: you're now tagged and verified (those with blue chks) in his private DB if you voted. Prepare to be exploited.

The dog that caught the car: Musk's performance as TWTR CEO. (1) immediately abdicated responsibility for company leadership and major decision-making (what should TWTR do, poll to reinstate Trump) choosing instead to crowd-source his own duty. (2) Alienated employees. Great engineer != great CEO.

Twitter will be fine.

WeChat made it to 1B users with 100x more utility and only 47 employees. Twitter isn't halfway there and does one thing very mediocrely (is that a word) and had over 8,000 employees

Put yourself in the employees shoes: they lived in an adult daycare and now have to actually work. Hard. They can get the same salary at a million other places in SF right now. So why wouldn't you? Unless you want TWTR equity.

Plenty of legends like George Hotz have stepped up to work at Twitter and make it awesome. Elon wants the company to be extremely lean. Look @ TSLAs OpEx relative to top line - it's trending in AAPLs direction.
