Business
PlayAGS, Inc. (AGS) designs, manufactures, and supplies electronic gaming machines, table products, and interactive gaming solutions for the global gaming industry. The company operates through three primary segments: Electronic Gaming Machines (EGM), which include Class II and Class III video slot titles, server-based systems, and back-office systems for Native American, commercial, and international jurisdictions; Table Products, encompassing live felt table games such as blackjack, poker, baccarat, craps, and roulette, side bets, progressives like Bonus Spin Xtreme with AGS FlexBet, card shufflers including Dex S and Pax S, and ancillary equipment; and Interactive Games, featuring real-money online slots, table games, business-to-business aggregation platforms, and business-to-consumer free-to-play social casino apps like Lucky Play Casino. AGS offers proprietary brands and game families such as Mariachi Fortunes Trio, 3x Ultra Diamond, Kingdom of Horus, and Revel mechanical reels, alongside cabinets like Spectra SL75+ Premium, with over 800 products developed including slots, tables, and online content deployed across more than 40,000 active units worldwide. The company serves casino operators, Native American tribes, and gaming jurisdictions in 25 countries, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, England, Italy, Peru, Philippines, Romania, and South Africa, targeting land-based casinos, online real-money gaming, and lottery markets. Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, PlayAGS maintains additional facilities in locations such as Atlanta, Georgia; Sydney, Australia; Tel Aviv, Israel; and Hinckley, United Kingdom, supporting research, development, and operations. In a major strategic development, affiliates of Brightstar Capital Partners completed the acquisition of PlayAGS in June 2025 for approximately $1.1 billion at $12.50 per share, taking the company private and delisting its common stock from the New York Stock Exchange following stockholder approval and regulatory clearances; this partnership aims to accelerate growth, enhance innovation in slots, tables, and online gaming, and expand market presence amid three years of record revenue driven by doubled slot unit sales, over 150% growth in online real-money gaming revenue, and more than 50% increase in table products revenue. Recent product launches include the Mariachi Fortunes Trio slot family with Fiesta de los Vivos and Fiesta de las Calacas themes, debuted at Yaamava' Resort & Casino and Palms Casino Resort; exclusive titles Kingdom of Horus and Reign of Anubis with Caesars Entertainment; and an expansive G2E 2025 portfolio featuring 86 slot titles, eight table games, new omnichannel interactive content, and enhancements like AGS FlexBet progressives.
