(NYSE: BANC) operates as the holding company for its subsidiary Banc of California, a California state-chartered bank that provides a broad range of commercial banking products and services to small-, middle-market, and venture-backed businesses, as well as individuals; core offerings include checking, savings, and money market accounts, certificates of deposit, retirement accounts, safe deposit boxes, loans such as commercial real estate, SBA lending, mortgage warehouse lending, equipment finance, and home loans, treasury management services encompassing automated bill payment, cash management, master demand accounts, foreign exchange, interest rate swaps, card payment services, remote and mobile deposit capture, automated clearing house origination, wire transfer, and direct deposit, and full-stack payment processing solutions through its subsidiary Deepstack Technologies, LLC. The bank maintains 80 full-service branches primarily in California, with additional locations in Denver, Colorado, Durham, North Carolina, and regional offices nationwide including New York and Chicago, serving niche verticals such as homeowner associations, media and entertainment, and innovation economy clients. Founded in 1941 as Rohr Employees Federal Credit Union and headquartered in Los Angeles, California, the company employs approximately 2,000 people and focuses on community banking, specialty banking, deposit services, and payment solutions segments. Recent developments include the November 2023 merger with PacWest Bancorp PacWest Bancorp valued at $1.1 billion, which expanded its scale to roughly $33 billion in assets and enhanced its net interest margin through asset yield improvements and cost reductions; the February 2025 acquisition of Deepstack Technologies from Global Payroll Gateway for $24 million to bolster payment platform capabilities; a $300 million share repurchase program initiated in early 2025 with $150 million executed in Q1 to optimize capital structure; and support for Southern California wildfire recovery in January 2025 via a $1 million Wildfire Relief & Recovery Fund and $250,000 contribution to the L.A.
