Business
Cintas Corporation (Nasdaq: CTAS), headquartered in Mason, Ohio, and founded in 1929, provides specialized products and services to over one million businesses across the United States, Canada, and other North American markets, helping facilities and employees stay clean, safe, and professional; core offerings include uniform and work apparel rental programs featuring flame-resistant clothing, entrance mats and logo mats, mop and industrial cleaning services, restroom and hygiene supplies with dispensers, first aid kits and safety products encompassing personal protective equipment (PPE), fire protection services including extinguishers inspection and testing, safety compliance training, and promotional products. The company operates through more than 400 facilities, including manufacturing plants and distribution centers, serving diverse industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, retail, automotive, and construction with customized route-based delivery and facility management solutions. Cintas designs, manufactures, and implements corporate identity uniform programs using proprietary fabrics like 65/35 polycotton blends while emphasizing sustainability, technology investments in CRM, ERP, and brand enhancement, and operational excellence via employee-partners exceeding 44,500 worldwide. In fiscal 2025, Cintas acquired businesses for $232.9 million, completed a $1.0 billion share repurchase adding to a $1.7 billion program, increased its quarterly dividend by 15.4% to $0.45 per share, and reported first-quarter fiscal 2026 revenue of $2.72 billion up 8.7% year-over-year; most notably, in January 2025 the company publicly proposed a $5.3 billion cash acquisition of UniFirst Corporation at $275 per share representing a 46% premium, following prior overtures since 2022 despite UniFirst rejections, to create a leading provider with enhanced route density, processing capacity, and technology synergies amid rising competition. Recent tuck-in acquisitions include Paris Uniform Services in March 2024, building on major deals like G&K Services for $2.2 billion in 2017 and Zee Medical in 2015.
