Cavco Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: CVCO) designs, manufactures and markets factory-built housing, including manufactured homes, modular homes, park model RVs, vacation cabins and commercial buildings; the company distributes its products through independent retailers and 99 company-owned retail locations across the United States. Core brands encompass Cavco, Fleetwood, Palm Harbor, Nationwide, Fairmont, Friendship, Chariot Eagle, Destiny, Commodore, Colony, Pennwest, R-Anell, Manorwood, MidCountry and Solitaire, with offerings featuring customizable floor plans from 400 to 2,500 square feet, average prices of $70,000 to $150,000 targeting low- to middle-income families, first-time buyers, retirement communities and rural residents. Founded in 1965 and headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Cavco operates 33 manufacturing production lines in 16 U.S. states including Arizona, California, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin, plus two facilities in Mexico; subsidiaries include CountryPlace Mortgage for homebuyer financing in Dallas, Texas, and Standard Casualty for manufactured home insurance in San Antonio, Texas. In September 2025, Cavco completed its $190 million all-cash acquisition of American Homestar Corporation, adding two manufacturing facilities producing 1,676 homes annually and 19 retail stores primarily in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma to bolster South-Central U.S. market presence, vertical integration via financing and insurance, and operational synergies. The deal, announced in July 2025 and funded from existing cash reserves while preserving substantial liquidity, proves immediately accretive to earnings and cash flow. Cavco, one of the largest U.S. producers of systems-built structures by wholesale shipments with capacity for 21,000 homes yearly, continues emphasizing affordable housing solutions amid industry demand.
