Federated Hermes, Inc. (FHI) is an independent, publicly owned investment manager focused on active management and responsible investing across diverse asset classes. The company offers a comprehensive range of investment products and services, including mutual funds; exchange-traded funds (ETFs) such as the Short Duration Corporate ETF (FCSH), Short Duration High Yield ETF (FHYS), U.S. Strategic Dividend ETF (FDV), Total Return Bond ETF (FTRB), and MDT Large Cap Core, Growth, and Value ETFs (FLCC, FLCG, FLCV); separately managed accounts and institutional separate accounts through subsidiaries like Federated Global Investment Management Corp., Federated Investment Counseling, and Federated MDTA LLC; closed-end funds; collective investment funds such as the Capital Preservation Fund, Prime Cash Fund, Total Return Bond Fund, and High Yield Bond Fund; variable annuity funds; and U.S. private funds including the Project and Trade Finance Core Fund. Its strategies encompass equity, fixed-income, alternative and private markets (real estate, infrastructure, private equity, debt), multi-asset solutions, and liquidity management, with a strong emphasis on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) integration, stewardship through EOS at Federated Hermes, and active equities characterized by proprietary fundamental and engagement research. Federated Hermes serves a broad client base comprising individuals, high-net-worth investors, corporations, government entities, insurance companies, foundations, endowments, banks, and broker/dealers. The firm operates globally with primary offices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (headquarters), New York City, Chicago, London, United Kingdom, and Dublin, Ireland, managing approximately $829.6 billion in customer assets as of December 2024. Founded in 1955 and headquartered at 1001 Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the company rebranded from Federated Investors, Inc. to Federated Hermes, Inc. in February 2020 following its 2018 acquisition of a majority stake in Hermes Fund Managers Limited, enhancing its responsible investing capabilities and changing its NYSE ticker from FII to FHI. Recent strategic developments include the April 2025 acquisition of a majority stake in Rivington Energy Partners to bolster project development expertise in energy infrastructure; the October 2025 agreement to acquire an 80% stake in FCP Fund Manager L.P., a multifamily real estate manager, for up to $331 million to expand private markets offerings; and the August 2025 merger of its Property Unit Trust into Legal & General's Managed Property Fund. New product launches in recent years feature sustainable strategies like Biodiversity Equity, Sustainable Global Investment Grade Credit Fund, GPE Innovation Fund II, and Climate Change High Yield Credit Fund with a Paris-aligned benchmark.
