Business
Globalstar, Inc. delivers mobile satellite and terrestrial communication solutions worldwide. The company provides a range of duplex two-way voice and data offerings, encompassing mobile and fixed satellite communication services and associated hardware, supporting essential functions like remote business continuity, personal recreation, safety, and emergency response. It also extends data modem services and specialized equipment. Beyond these, Globalstar offers its widely recognized SPOT consumer retail line, featuring SPOT Satellite GPS messengers for personal tracking, emergency alerting, and messaging, alongside SPOT Trace devices for asset security and tracking. Further expanding its portfolio, the company supplies commercial Internet of Things (IoT) devices and one-way and two-way transmission products, enabling the tracking of assets such as cargo containers and rail cars, and monitoring utility meters and oil and gas infrastructure. Additionally, Globalstar offers small satellite transmitter modules and integrated chips, allowing third-party products to connect to its network. Its service model includes wholesale capacity distribution to independent gateway operators and the provision of engineering services, covering hardware and software development for unique applications, as well as the installation of gateways and antennas. Globalstar differentiates itself through its proprietary low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation and exclusive access to licensed mid-band terrestrial spectrum, specifically Band 53 and its 5G variant n53. This spectrum supports versatile private network deployments for carriers, cable companies, and system integrators. The company's XCOM RAN technology further enhances these capabilities by offering substantial capacity gains for dense wireless applications. Distribution occurs directly and through a network of independent agents, dealers, resellers, retailers, and its e-commerce platform. Globalstar serves diverse markets, including recreation and personal users, government entities, public safety and disaster relief operations, the oil and gas sector, maritime and fishing industries, construction, utilities, transportation, natural resources, mining, and forestry. Recent strategic advancements include its partnership with Apple for Emergency SOS via Satellite services, a collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies for 5G private network solutions, and an exclusive partnership with Parsons for public sector and defense applications, alongside significant investment in its next-generation satellite constellation to enhance network capacity. The company reported record annual revenue of $250.3 million in 2024, demonstrating consistent growth. Founded in 1993, Globalstar, Inc. maintains its headquarters in Covington, Louisiana.
