Howden Joinery Group Plc supplies kitchens and joinery products exclusively to trade professionals such as local builders through a network of depots across the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, and the Republic of Ireland. Founded in 1995 and headquartered at 105 Wigmore Street in London, the company manufactures, sources, and distributes a comprehensive range of products including kitchen cabinets manufactured in the UK from sustainable FSC and PEFC certified materials with a 25-year guarantee; worktops, sinks and taps; flooring; integrated appliances under the Lamona brand and third-party brands; handles; internal and external doors including fire doors; stair parts; general joinery items such as skirting and architrave; hardware; tools; and bathroom cabinetry; as well as emerging bedroom ranges and solid work surfaces with template and fit services now covering 58 decors. Howdens operates 869 depots in the UK, 65 in France and Belgium, and 13 in the Republic of Ireland as of late 2024, with manufacturing facilities in Runcorn, Cheshire, and Howden, East Yorkshire. In 2024, the company opened 29 new UK depots and three internationally while reformatting 76 existing UK depots including relocations to enhance space efficiency and sales; introduced 11 new kitchen ranges across entry, mid-market, and premium segments including expansions to shaker styles, Clerkenwell, Paint To Order with refreshed colours, and budget frontals; launched own-label flooring brand Oake & Gray and premium vinyl from Karndean; added bedroom ranges totaling 19 options; expanded solid worksurface decors to 58 with plans for 63 by end-2025; completed rollout of digitized in-depot stock management enabling nationwide Click and Collect; achieved 99.98% service levels via cross-docking and Daily Traders initiatives; invested in manufacturing including full-year end-panel and frontal production at Howden reducing bought-in volumes; and announced a new 100 million pound share buyback programme while generating group revenue of 2.32 billion pounds and year-end cash of 343.6 million pounds. For 2025, Howdens plans around 20 new UK depots and 60 reformats; 23 additional kitchen ranges excluding Paint To Order; upgrades to Runcorn manufacturing; new Customer Relationship Management software; and further own-label launches including ironmongery under Fuller and Forge.
