Business
IDEX Corporation, along with its operating divisions, delivers advanced solutions across the globe. The enterprise is structured into three primary business units: Fluid & Metering Technologies (FMT), Health & Science Technologies (HST), and Fire & Safety/Diversified Products (FSDP). The FMT segment engineers, manufactures, and distributes specialized positive displacement pumps, flow measurement devices, small volume proving systems, injectors, and comprehensive fluid-handling pump modules and systems. It also provides flow monitoring and related services, catering to vital applications in the food processing, chemical, general industrial, water and wastewater management, agricultural, and energy sectors. The HST segment is dedicated to developing and supplying precision fluidics components, rotary lobe and positive displacement pumps, advanced roll compaction and drying technologies, pneumatic elements, and sealing innovations. This includes high-performance molded seals, bespoke mechanical seals, sanitary mixers and valves, biocompatible medical devices, air compressors, optical components and coatings, laboratory equipment, precise photonic systems, and specialized gear and peristaltic pump technologies. This segment serves a broad spectrum of markets including food and beverage, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical, cosmetics, marine, chemical, life sciences, research, clinical diagnostics, semiconductor, and defense. Recent strategic moves include the acquisition of Micro-LAM, Inc. in July 2025, enhancing its optical technology offerings for aerospace, defense, and optics markets. Additionally, the acquisition of Mott Corporation in September 2024 expanded capabilities in applied material science, benefiting semiconductor, energy transition, and medical technology sectors. The FSDP segment conceptualizes, produces, and distributes essential firefighting pumps, valves, controls, and associated systems, along with hydraulic rescue tools like the Hurst Jaws of Life® and LUKAS®, and lifting bags for emergency services. Furthermore, it offers engineered stainless steel banding and clamping devices for diverse industrial and commercial uses, and precision equipment for dispensing, metering, and mixing paints and colorants in retail and commercial environments. IDEX Corporation was formally established in 1988, having been incorporated in 1987, and maintains its corporate headquarters in Northbrook, Illinois. The company operates in approximately 20 countries worldwide.
