(NYSE: IIIN) manufactures and markets steel wire reinforcing products for concrete construction applications, including prestressed concrete strand; welded wire reinforcement such as engineered structural mesh, concrete pipe reinforcement, and standard welded wire reinforcement; and industrial wire products. The company, founded in 1953 and headquartered in Mount Airy, North Carolina, operates ten manufacturing facilities across the United States in states including Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas, with products sold primarily to concrete product manufacturers serving nonresidential construction markets (approximately 85% of sales) and residential construction (15%), as well as directly to users and through wholesalers and distributors in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Central and South America. In late 2024, Insteel expanded through strategic acquisitions, including Engineered Wire Products, Inc. and certain assets of Liberty Steel Georgetown, Inc. for $67.0 million in October to enhance product capabilities and geographic footprint, followed by assets of O'Brien Wire Products of Texas, Inc. for $5.1 million in November to strengthen its competitive position in key markets.
