Ingredion Incorporated manufactures and supplies a broad portfolio of ingredient solutions derived from grains, fruits, vegetables and other plant-based materials, including sweeteners such as high fructose corn syrup, glucose syrups, dextrose, polyols and high-potency sweeteners like stevia; starches encompassing native, modified and functional varieties for texture, viscosity and stabilization; nutrition ingredients featuring dietary fibers, prebiotics, resistant starches and plant-based proteins from pea and faba bean; and biomaterials for packaging, personal care and industrial applications. The company serves diverse sectors including food and beverage, paper and corrugating, animal nutrition, brewing, pharmaceuticals and personal care, with customers in more than 120 countries across six continents. Founded in 1906 as Corn Products Refining Co. through the merger of leading U.S. corn refiners and headquartered at 5 Westbrook Corporate Center in Westchester, Illinois, Ingredion employs approximately 12,000 people worldwide and operates over 30 manufacturing facilities strategically located near agricultural sources and key markets. Recent developments include a 2024 reorganization and new segment structure to target market opportunities; a November 2024 strategic partnership with Lantmännen to accelerate plant-based protein development and supply pea protein isolates in Europe; an expansion of its distribution partnership with Univar Solutions into the Benelux region in June 2025 for functional food and beverage ingredients; a February 2025 partnership with Oobli via Ingredion Ventures to develop sweet proteins alongside stevia for healthier sweetener systems, accompanied by an $18 million funding round; and an agreement in November 2025 with Amyris to wind down their RealSweet joint venture, granting Ingredion exclusive access to fermented Reb M technology while Amyris assumes full ownership of their Brazilian precision fermentation plant.
