Business
Innospec Inc. develops, manufactures, blends, markets, and supplies specialty chemicals for fuel, oilfield, and performance applications worldwide; operates through three segments including Fuel Specialties, Oilfield Services, and Performance Chemicals; and maintains manufacturing facilities, research centers, and offices in 22 countries across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. Fuel Specialties offers additives such as detergents, cold flow improvers, lubricity improvers, corrosion inhibitors, antioxidants, cetane improvers, and drag reducers for diesel, jet, marine, fuel oil, gasoline, renewable fuels, refineries, and power plants; Oilfield Services provides drilling, completion, stimulation, production, and midstream chemicals including drag reducing agents for oil and gas exploration companies; Performance Chemicals supplies surfactants, emollients, silicones, solubilizers, rheology modifiers, foam controllers, and other ingredients for personal care, home care, agrochemicals, metal extraction, construction, industrial cleaning, and polymers. Founded in 1938 through origins tracing to a UK management buyout from Great Lakes Chemical and formerly known as Octel Corp. until its name change in 2006, the company is headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, with approximately 2,450 employees and major regional centers in the United Kingdom and Singapore. Recent developments include expansion of drag reducing agent production capacity at its Pleasanton, Texas facility, expected online in the fourth quarter of 2025 to meet pipeline operator demand; a partnership with UNESCO IESALC to boost Indigenous participation in STEM education in Brazil; and maintenance of a debt-free position with over $266 million in net cash as of Q2 2025 alongside share repurchases and dividends.
