Business
ITT Inc. engineers and provides essential components and bespoke technological offerings across global transportation, industrial, and energy sectors. The company operates through three principal divisions: Motion Technologies, Industrial Process, and Connect & Control Technologies. The Motion Technologies segment develops and manufactures friction materials, brake pads, advanced shock absorbers, and various energy absorption and damping solutions. These products serve a wide array of applications within the transportation industry, encompassing passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, heavy-duty and military transport, buses, and railway systems. Brands such as KONI shock absorbers and Axtone energy absorption solutions are prominent in this segment. In a strategic portfolio adjustment, the company divested its Wolverine Advanced Materials business in mid-2024. The Industrial Process division focuses on designing and producing a comprehensive suite of fluid handling and control equipment. Its offerings include industrial pumps, such as centrifugal, twin-screw, and multiphase models under brands like Goulds Pumps and Bornemann, alongside a variety of valves and sophisticated plant optimization and remote monitoring systems. This segment also delivers extensive aftermarket support, including replacement components and services, for diverse industries such as chemical, energy, mining, biopharmaceutical, and other industrial process markets. The acquisition of Svanehøj in early 2024 further expanded its capabilities in critical liquid and cryogenic pump technologies. The Connect & Control Technologies segment specializes in creating a wide range of highly engineered connectors and critical control components. These solutions cater to demanding applications in aerospace and defense, general industrial, medical, and energy markets. Its product portfolio features various electrical and fiber optic connectors, alongside control items like actuators, specialized valves, and switches for flow control, as well as rate controls, seat recline mechanisms, and elastomeric isolators for aircraft interiors. Additionally, this segment provides heaters, hoses, composite ducting for environmental control, and advanced composite materials for engine applications. In 2024, the company enhanced this segment through the acquisition of kSARIA, an interconnect solutions provider. ITT Inc. was established in 1920 and maintains its corporate headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.
