Business
Lionsgate Studios Corp. functions as a prominent global entertainment enterprise, focusing on film, television, and various content ventures across North America and international markets. The company strategically reorganized its operations in May 2025, completing the full separation of its Studio and STARZ businesses into two distinct publicly-traded entities. Lionsgate Studios now concentrates on its core content creation and distribution activities. The Motion Picture Group is dedicated to the initiation and creation of feature films; securing North American and global distribution rights; orchestrating North American theatrical releases, home entertainment sales, and television distribution for its produced and acquired cinematic content; and managing the worldwide licensing of these film rights. This segment typically releases 30 to 40 films annually, including approximately a dozen wide theatrical releases. The Television Group is involved in the conception, development, production, and worldwide syndication of a broad array of television programming, encompassing scripted series, television movies, mini-series, and unscripted formats. It also handles the global distribution of its own original productions and acquired programming. Furthermore, this segment generates revenue from the sale and licensing of music derived from its television broadcasts and distributes its film and television offerings through packaged media and digital platforms. Lionsgate Television is a significant provider of premium content to streaming, broadcast, cable, AVOD, and FAST channels. Additionally, the company oversees a substantial film and television library, comprising over 20,000 titles, which is a key revenue driver through ongoing licensing. It also operates 3 Arts Entertainment, a leading talent management and production firm. The company explores location-based entertainment by extending its film and television properties into attractions, exhibitions, and live events. Lionsgate was established in 1986 and maintains its corporate headquarters in Santa Monica, California.
