The company offers a broad portfolio of products such as 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit PIC microcontrollers and dsPIC digital signal controllers; ARM-based microprocessors; low- and mid-range Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and other Programmable Logic Devices (PLDs); high-reliability and space-grade diodes, transistors and power discretes for aerospace and defense; embedded and industrial controllers; network processors supporting OTN, Ethernet, CoaXpress and ARCNET protocols; high-speed communication ICs, transceivers and fiber optic subsystems; connectivity solutions including CAN, LIN, PCIe retimers/switches, USB interfaces and wireless protocols; display and LED drivers; EEPROM, EERAM, Flash, SRAM and serial memory controllers; RF and microwave devices encompassing GaN/GaAs amplifiers, switches, filters and power transistors; data converters, amplifiers, clock generators, oscillators and timing ICs; and power management solutions. Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Chandler, Arizona, Microchip operates wafer fabrication facilities in Tempe, Arizona; Gresham, Oregon; and Colorado Springs, Colorado, with assembly and test sites in Thailand and the Philippines, serving industrial, automotive, consumer, aerospace and defense, communications, computing and data center markets across the Americas, Europe and Asia. Recent developments include the acquisition of Neuronix AI Labs to bolster AI-driven edge solutions on FPGAs; acquisition of VSI Co. Ltd. to expand automotive networking with ASA Motion Link technology for software-defined vehicles; strengthened partnership with TSMC via specialized 40nm manufacturing at Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing for supply chain resilience; and a planned $162 million U.S. government award under the CHIPS Act to triple production of legacy semiconductors and microcontroller units at expanded facilities in Colorado and Oregon.
