In June 2025, Methanex completed its $2.05 billion acquisition of OCI Global's international methanol business, adding two world-scale methanol plants in Beaumont, Texas, a low-carbon methanol production and marketing operation via OCI HyFuels, and an idled facility in the Netherlands, while targeting $30 million in annual cost synergies through logistics and administrative efficiencies.
