Founded in 1931 as Brush Beryllium Company in Cleveland, Ohio, and headquartered in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, Materion unified its operations under its current name in 2011 and has since expanded through strategic acquisitions. Recent developments include the completion in July 2025 of its acquisition of manufacturing assets for tantalum solutions in Dangjin City, South Korea, from Konasol, enhancing its semiconductor capabilities and Asian footprint to better serve Tier I customers in high-performance computing and AI applications. In October 2025, Materion announced a supply agreement with Commonwealth Fusion Systems to provide materials for fusion energy technologies; authorized a new $50 million share repurchase program; and reported strong third-quarter financial results with record EBITDA margins in Electronic Materials and Precision Optics segments. These initiatives reflect ongoing strategic expansions in new energy, semiconductors, and precision optics amid robust demand growth.
