Redfin Corporation (RDFN), a technology-powered real estate brokerage, operates an online platform that facilitates residential property buying, selling, renting, mortgages, title insurance and settlement services. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Seattle, Washington, the company deploys salaried agents paired with proprietary tools including map-based search, Redfin Estimate valuations, virtual tours, AI-powered Redfin Redesign for home staging visualizations, and rental management applications for property owners; it also originates mortgages via Redfin Mortgage, provides title services through Title Forward, and supports rentals nationwide following the 2021 acquisition of RentPath. Redfin conducts brokerage, mortgage, rentals, title and closing operations across more than 100 U.S. markets and select Canadian locales, targeting homebuyers, sellers, renters and investors with lower listing fees, commission rebates and integrated end-to-end transaction support. In July 2025, Rocket Companies completed its $1.75 billion all-stock acquisition of Redfin, enhancing synergies in purchase mortgages, agent matchmaking, title processing and AI-driven real estate guidance while projecting over $200 million in annual run-rate efficiencies by 2027; earlier in 2024-2025, Redfin expanded its Redfin Next agent compensation nationwide with over 500 new hires, launched Redfin Teams for agent collaborations adding more than 180 participants, rolled out free nationwide rental listing tools, and extended Redfin Redesign partnerships to over 355,000 U.S. listings amid National Association of Realtors settlement adaptations including consumer fee agreements. As a former independent public entity post-2017 IPO, Redfin now functions as a Rocket Companies subsidiary, streamlining operations from prior iBuying wind-downs and workforce adjustments.
