The company operates in key markets across seven states including Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia, targeting business and leisure travelers with full-service offerings. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Williamsburg, Virginia, Sotherly Hotels Inc. announced in October 2025 a definitive merger agreement to be acquired by a joint venture backed by Kemmons Wilson Hospitality Partners and Ascendant Capital Partners for $2.25 per share in cash, representing a 152.7% premium to the prior closing price and expected to close in the first quarter of 2026 pending shareholder approval.
