Business
Tidewater Inc. provides offshore support vessels and marine support services to the global energy industry, including offshore oil and gas exploration, field development, production, and offshore wind activities. The company operates one of the world's largest fleets of offshore service vessels (OSVs), comprising over 200 vessels such as anchor handling towing supply (AHTS) vessels for towing, anchor handling, subsea operations, and rig positioning; platform supply vessels (PSVs) for transporting supplies, fuel, water, drilling fluids, and personnel; offshore tugs; crew boats and fast supply vessels (FSVs); utility vessels; specialty vessels for cable laying, pipe laying, seismic support, geotechnical surveys, and offshore construction; and other marine support assets. Tidewater serves integrated and independent oil and gas companies, offshore drilling contractors, windfarm developers, government-owned energy entities, and service providers in offshore construction, diving, and well stimulation, with operations spanning more than 60 countries across six continents, including key regions in the Americas, West Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, North Sea, and Australia. Founded in 1956 and headquartered in Houston, Texas, the company maintains a global footprint with offices supporting regional logistics and technical expertise. In recent developments, Tidewater completed the acquisition of Swire Pacific Offshore in a $190 million stock-and-cash deal, adding 50 OSVs (29 AHTS and 21 PSVs) to expand its fleet to over 200 vessels, enhance earnings potential, and strengthen presence in Southeast Asia and the Middle East while targeting $45 million in annual cost synergies. The company issued $650 million in 9.125% senior unsecured notes due 2030 to refinance debt, authorized a $500 million share repurchase program after buying back $90 million in shares, and reported record average day rates of $23,166, strong free cash flow of $97.5 million in recent quarters, and 2025 revenue guidance of $1.32-1.38 billion with 48-50% gross margins, amid 88% contracted revenue and no project cancellations despite macroeconomic uncertainty.
