Teradyne operates globally with major facilities in the United States, Asia Pacific including Taiwan and China, and Europe, serving semiconductor manufacturers, electronics systems producers and industrial companies in automotive, food and agriculture, furniture, metal machining, plastics, pharmaceuticals and chemicals sectors; founded in 1960 and headquartered in North Reading, Massachusetts, the company comprises subsidiaries such as Universal Robots, Mobile Industrial Robots, AutoGuide and Energid. Recent developments include a January 2025 strategic partnership and acquisition of part of Infineon's automated test equipment team and technology in Regensburg, Germany, to accelerate power semiconductor testing for silicon carbide and gallium nitride devices and enhance the ETS product portfolio; a May 2025 agreement to acquire Quantifi Photonics for expanded photonic test capabilities; a strategic collaboration with Siemens announced in 2025 for automation showcases; a partnership with NVIDIA in 2024 to integrate AI into cobots; and a November 2025 CFO transition appointing Michelle Turner effective November 3, replacing Sanjay Mehta who transitions to executive advisor ahead of his 2026 retirement.
