The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV) provides property and casualty insurance products and services to businesses, government entities, associations, and individuals through three primary segments: Business Insurance, which offers workers' compensation, general liability, commercial auto, commercial property, and professional liability coverage; Bond & Specialty Insurance, which includes surety bonds, fidelity and crime insurance, management liability such as directors and officers coverage, and international property and casualty products; and Personal Insurance, which encompasses homeowners, auto, boat, umbrella, and other personal lines policies sold primarily through independent agents and brokers. Founded in 1864 and headquartered in New York City with its largest office in Hartford, Connecticut, the company operates in every U.S. state and select international markets including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Brazil, Singapore, and China, employing more than 30,000 people and generating over $46 billion in revenues in 2024. Recent developments include the completion of its $435 million acquisition of Corvus Insurance in early 2024 to enhance cyber insurance capabilities with advanced underwriting algorithms and vulnerability scanning, as well as the May 2025 announcement to sell its Canadian personal insurance business for approximately $0.7 billion in net cash proceeds earmarked for share repurchases in 2026.
