United Therapeutics Corporation (Nasdaq: UTHR), a public benefit biotechnology company founded in 1996 and headquartered in Silver Spring, Maryland, with co-headquarters in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, develops and commercializes innovative products to address unmet medical needs of patients with chronic and life-threatening diseases, particularly pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), high-risk neuroblastoma, and organ failure; its core commercial portfolio includes Tyvaso DPI and Tyvaso, inhaled formulations of treprostinil via dry powder inhaler and nebulizer for PAH and other lung conditions; Remodulin (treprostinil) injection and Orenitram (treprostinil extended-release tablets) for PAH to improve exercise capacity and delay disease progression; Adcirca (tadalafil), an oral PDE-5 inhibitor for PAH; Unituxin (dinutuximab) injection, a monoclonal antibody for pediatric high-risk neuroblastoma; and Remunity Pump, a subcutaneous delivery system for Remodulin. The company operates in the United States, Canada, Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia through distribution partners and maintains manufacturing facilities in locations including Melbourne and Jacksonville, Florida; Blacksburg, Virginia; Manchester, New Hampshire; and Magog and Bromont, Quebec. United Therapeutics targets patients with cardiovascular, pulmonary, oncology, and organ transplant needs, while advancing a pipeline featuring RemoPro and ralinepag for PAH, Aurora-GT gene therapy for lung vascular rebuilding, nebulized Tyvaso for IPF, and xenotransplantation technologies including UKidney for end-stage renal disease via xenografts, allogenic recellularization, and bioprinting. In recent developments, United Therapeutics announced the first human transplant in its EXPAND clinical trial of UKidney for end-stage renal disease in November 2025, marking a milestone in xenotransplantation; the company reported positive top-line results from the phase 3 TETON-2 pivotal study of nebulized Tyvaso in IPF in September 2025, meeting the primary endpoint and key secondary measures across subgroups; it initiated a $1 billion accelerated share repurchase program in August 2025 with Citibank to return capital to shareholders while supporting growth; and earlier acquired IVEVA and MiroMatrix to bolster organ manufacturing expertise, alongside investments in new manufacturing facilities and designated pathogen-free sites.
