The company provides a comprehensive portfolio of power management products including uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) such as Liebert EXM, EXL S1 and industrial-grade systems; DC power systems like NetSure 5000, 7000 and 8000 series; AC power distribution, switchgear, busbars via E+I Engineering, and rack power distribution units under Geist; thermal management solutions encompassing perimeter, in-row, high-density and direct liquid cooling systems such as Liebert PDX, CRV and chillers; integrated rack solutions featuring racks, rack thermal systems, rack UPS and configurable IT management hardware and software including Avocent and Cybex KVM; modular solutions like SmartMod and SmartRow for edge and core deployments; and services including preventive maintenance, remote monitoring, project management, performance optimization, engineering consulting, spare parts and critical infrastructure software. Vertiv operates globally with manufacturing facilities in over 20 locations across the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Middle East including sites in Ohio, South Carolina, Mexico, Ireland, Italy, China and India; it maintains more than 300 service centers and over 4,000 field service engineers serving customers in 130+ countries such as Alibaba, AT&T, Equinix, Ericsson, NVIDIA, Tencent and Verizon; revenue derives primarily from the Americas (56%), Asia-Pacific (22%) and EMEA (22%). Founded in 2016 through the acquisition and rebranding of Emerson Network Power by Platinum Equity and headquartered in Westerville, Ohio, Vertiv traces its roots to Liebert Corporation established in 1965 as a pioneer in precision computer room air conditioning. Recent developments include the November 2025 announcement of a $1.0 billion cash acquisition of PurgeRite Intermediate (with up to $250 million earn-out) to enhance liquid cooling, flushing and filtration services for AI data centers; the August 2025 $200 million acquisition of Great Lakes Data Racks & Cabinets for customized rack enclosures and seismic solutions; the same month's acquisition of Waylay NV for generative AI software; a November 2025 collaboration with Caterpillar integrating modular power, cooling and CCHP technologies for efficient AI data center deployment; the December 2024 acquisition of BiXin Energy for centrifugal chiller technology; and ongoing expansions in liquid cooling capacity alongside partnerships with NVIDIA, Intel and Compass Datacenters to address high-density AI thermal challenges.
